OK, everyone. Here's the scoop. I've been reading up on natural birth (OK, men, if you don't want to hear about this stuff, this is your queue to skip past this post) and the differences between OBs and midwives and now I'm asking for your advice/experiences. I've heard some horror stories from both sides and now I'm honestly contemplating switching doctors half way through my pregnancy. The doctor I see is great so far, but the downside is that he's in a practice with 4 other doctors. The rule in the practice is that you have to see each doctor at least once before you deliver because any one of them could be delivering your baby.
With Jonah, I saw one doctor through the whole pregnancy and he was wonderful, but of course he didn't deliver me because they called some "on-call" doctor instead. I decided to try a different doctor on the count that I wouldn't be here through the whole pregnancy because we were thinking about moving...and now we're not. So I wasn't very thorough in my investigation of providers and really wasn't thinking long-term on this one.
So now I ask you for your advice! I haven't made any decisions yet and I'd like some feedback.
Please leave me your comments if you know of a great midwife or doctor and who NOT to go to. Thanks everyone! I want this to be a good experience and not a scary one.

Hey Sarah~ Ok I am throwing you some advice. My doctor was amazing and is close to you. His name is Dr. Kory Harward and he is a OBGYN. He is located at the Orem IHC office. I was really nervous cause I didn't know him...but he is amazing. So, nice and I liked how close we became. It was great to know he was going to be there to deliver. I had to have a c-section and he did such a great job. As for the natural birth....I had an epidural and it saved my life really. It was a great experience. I never ever want to do it without it.
Go see Shelly Savage. You will NEVER regret/wonder if you made the right decision! She is also the Bell's doctor and Paul and Jen Thatcher. Good luck!

Thank you both for your advice!!! I'm still trying to decide what to do so keep it coming!
Hey Sarah,
This is Megan Lee, we just moved into your ward and I found your blog through my sister-in-laws. I had my baby Bennett naturally and had a great experience! If you ever want to talk about going natural...let me know.
I'm in the same boat as you... trying to plan who our next doctor is going to be. In my little experience I've learned that Dr. Young is a no-no! If I could choose any doctor I'd go to Dr. Woolsey but I'm not sure if he's accepting any new patients (I go to his son Shep to get my haircut). His office is in Provo on 500W right above "Shep's Studio". My second consideration is Dr Watabe in AF. But he only delivers at AF hospital and he works in an office with 2 or 3 other doctors: Dr. Smith and Dr Jones. I've heard great things about their office but I don't know if you can choose which one delivers you. It's so hard to choose. I don't want to go to the same doctor again (Dr. Peterson) either... my reason is too long to post. You just gotta go with your gut feeling. I'm commenting late... have you already made a decision?
THank you all for your input!!! It really has helped a ton. I just read a book by Hensi Goer called "The Thinking Woman's Guide To a Better Birth" and it was WAY pro-midwife...and actually pretty anti-OBGYN. It gave a lot of good insight but after talking to my doctor's sister (who also happens to be his assistant, and my sister's mother-in-law) she eased my mind a bit about how the doctors in the office all really let you call the shots during labor, etc. So that's really what I wanted. I might try a midwife with the next one...but for now I'm gonna worry about getting this one out! :)
